TOMATO CURRY RECIPE

INGREDIENTS FOR TOMATO CURRY

Tomatoes – 4 [chopped]

Onion – 1 [chopped]

Green chilies – 3 [chopped]

Ginger – 1 piece [chopped]

Black gram dal – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – 1 strand

Red chilies – 2

Tamarind pulp – 1 tsp

Oil – 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARING TOMATO CURRY

Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, black gram, red chilies, chopped green chilies, chopped ginger, chopped onion and fry for 5 minutes.

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves and salt and fry for 2 minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes and mix well. Mix the tamarind pulp in little water and add to the tomato mixture Add enough water and cook on low flame until gravy become thick.

Serve hot with rice
