INGREDIENTS
Moog dal – 150 gms
Green chilies – 3 [cut into pieces]
Tomatoes – 2 [chopped]
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tsp [chopped]
Oil – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
METHOD
Boil the moog dal in pressure cooker with salt.
Heat oil in a pan and put cumin seeds, green chilies and asafoetida and fry for 2 minutes.
Add tomatoes and fry for 5 minutes.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and fry for another 2 minutes and add to the boiled moog dal.
Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice or chapatti
